I tried to change preferences settings to only show it on Ctrl + space: But it made no difference - autocomplete is always shown. I really have to start with the initial part of the table name. Since (I believe) version 6.10 Ive noticed that autocomplete always shows up. When I click ctrl+space it takes around 0.5-1 second to appear, horrible. Usually it's just faster to type keyword/identifier on your own than waiting till autocompletion will appear. What I've noticed is that pgAdmin's query tool has very slow autocompletion. Besides PostgreSQL, pgAdmin can be employed for other relational databases as well, like EnterpriseDB’s EDB Advanced Server. It is open-source and supports all the features found in PostgreSQL. But if I do that, for example, I type "Factor圜ampaign$Planned", and press Ctrl+Space for auto complete, it appends the full table name next to my input.
